After one of the biggest victories in recent memory of the BGSU men’s soccer program, two players were rewarded for their efforts by the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC).
Fifth-year goalkeeper Brendan Graves earned his third MVC Defensive Player of the Week award of the year after a four-save night that kept Western Michigan scoreless in BG’s 3-0 win over the previously undefeated program.
Graves continues his career season in his final year of college eligibility, as he stands third in both average goals against and save percentage in the MVC with a 10-4-2 record.
Senior midfielder Alberto Anaya picked a great night to score his third goal of the season that gave the Falcons a 1-0 lead going into the second half of their win over the Broncos, and he earned his second MVC Offensive Player of the Week award as a result of his performance.
Anaya has tallied 15 points in 16 games in 2024 and played over 1300 minutes as a captain of the BGSU squad.
The Falcons will take on the Oregon State Beavers on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 10 p.m. before their MVC Tournament match on Sunday, Nov. 10.
