BGSU women’s basketball senior guard Amy Velasco was awarded the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Player of the Week for the second time in her collegiate career.
The Centerville, Ohio native averaged 25 points and 4.5 assists last week in the Orange and Brown’s matches against Cleveland State and St. Bonaventure. She had 28 points against the Vikings and then followed it up four days later with 22 points against the Bonnies.
Velasco shot 60.7% from the floor as well, going 17-28. She was also perfect from the charity stripe, making all 10 free throws on the week.
So far this season, Velasco leads the team in both scoring and assisting, with 20.3 points and 4.5 assists per game.
Velasco and the Falcons are back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 19, facing off against No. 13 ranked West Virginia at the WVU Coliseum at 7 p.m.
