“From the Islands to the Mainland”
That’s the saying of the annual Hula Bowl, the nation’s premier college football all-star game for college seniors for 79 years.
It’s where BGSU senior cornerback Jordan Oladokun has just announced that he’s accepted an invite to play.
In 10 games this season, Oladokun has tallied 29 total tackles, 24 solo tackles, two interceptions, six passes defended, one quarterback hit and one defensive touchdown. Across 34 games in his BGSU career, he has 77 total tackles, 59 solo tackles, two tackles for loss, six interceptions, 26 passes defended, one fumble recovery and two defensive touchdowns.
The game allows college seniors to showcase their skills one more time to NFL scouts and represent their school colors one more time.
The game has showcased various Heisman Trophy winners and college football legends, such as Merlin Olsen, Vince Ferragamo, Brian Young, Ricky Williams, Deion Sanders, Fran Tarkenton, Dan Marino, Eric Dickerson, Jim Plunkett, Tony Dorsett, Eric Crouch, Ron Dayne, Anthony Miller, Mike Garrett, Drew Brees, Billy Sims and many more.
The Hula Bowl invites the top 100 senior athletes to be selected to showcase their talent one final time.
Oladokun is one of eight Mid-American Conference (MAC) players who have accepted their invitation to the game, joining Addison West (Western Michigan), Jake Gideon (Western Michigan), Anthony Torres (Toledo), Jerjuan Newton (Toledo), Cade McDonald (Miami (OH)), Reid Holskey (Miami (OH)) and Luke Floriea (Kent State).
The game is being held at UCF FBS Mortgage Stadium in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday, Jan. 11, at noon.
