BGSU swim and dive finished strong to earn a fourth-place finish at the Magnus Cup Invitational at the Busbey Natatorium in Cleveland, Ohio.
The Falcons had 17 swimmers qualify for A and/or B finals in all seven events throughout the tournament, from Thursday to Saturday.
The Orange and Browns finished the first day in seventh place but would gain momentum and finish above Mid-American Conference (MAC) rival Toledo and host Cleveland State.
Freshman Karina Solera placed second in the 50-yard butterfly B final with a time of 25.01 seconds, becoming the first Falcon this season to earn an A cut in the event for the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Invitational Championship (NIC), which will take place in March in Ocala, Florida.
Four Falcons qualified for the 100-yard individual medley (IM) B final. Sophomore Joanna Robertson won the event and placed 11th overall (58.77), while freshman Taylor Devorace placed second (59.00).
Freshman Samia Becdach finished eighth in the 100-yard freestyle A final. Her time of 50.97 seconds is the ninth-fastest in program history.

Sophomore Alexandra Johnson won the B final of the 50-yard backstroke (26.51), while Becdach finished in third (26.87).
Four Falcons qualified for the A final of the 200-yard butterfly, with Solera leading the pack and placing fourth with a time of 2:02.84, the ninth-fastest in program history.

Bowling Green’s trio of graduate student Elise Snyder, junior Evie Long and Werner won the team platform diving event 3×3 diving relay in their first performance on the towers.
The Orange and Brown will not compete for the rest of the calendar year. Next, they will head to Florida during their training trip to take on host Barry and Simon Frasier on Sunday, Jan. 5.
