Bowling Green Hockey’s captain center Ethan Scardina has received a one-game suspension for a hit against Michigan Tech on Saturday Nov. 30.
At 12:46 in the third period of the 2-2 second game against the Huskies, Scardina “left his feet and made direct contact to the head of his opponent,” resulting in a penalty that was reviewed and assessed as a ten-minute game misconduct, sending him to the locker room and putting the Falcons on a five-minute major-penalty powerplay.
The Falcons proceeded to kill all five minutes of penalty without a goal and won in the shootout in only two rounds, taking two CCHA points.
The CCHA has seen fit to suspend the captain centerman for one game, falling as the first of the two-game set against Minnesota State on Friday Dec. 6. He will be able to return to the lineup on Saturday Dec. 7 for the second game in Mankato, Minnesota.
