Late last night, Monday, Dec. 16, the Falcons women’s basketball team announced the signing of Sofia Moschen, a 6’2 forward from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The addition of Moschen fits right into head coach Fred Chmiel’s goal of heightening the team. She is a great rebounder and has a lot of basketball experience.
Earlier this year, the Brazil native played in three Basketball Without Borders games for the Phoenix Mercury, averaging 5.7 points.
Moschen has also played for numerous national teams. Most recently, the South American U17 Women’s Championship in 2023. In 16 games throughout two years, Moschen averaged 6.5 points and 7.4 rebounds.
