BGSU men’s basketball is set to wrap up 2024 and non-conference play against Aquinas College at the Stroh Center at 3 p.m. on Monday.

Monday marks the first meeting all-time between the two teams.
Scouting Bowling Green
Bowling Green is currently limping to the finish line of non-conference play.
The Falcons have lost two straight and come into the contest with a 4-7 record on the season.
They have also been overwhelmed by injuries.
Senior forward Sam Towns, junior forward Youssef Khayat, senior guard DaJion Humphrey and sophomore guard Braelon Green are all out indefinitely. Junior forward Greg Spurgin is also currently sidelined but should be able to return soon.
Despite the injuries, the Falcon’s offense still ranks as one of the best in the Mid-American Conference (MAC).
They lead the MAC with 81% shooting on free throws. They also rank second in the conference with 36.1% shooting from beyond the arc, third with 46% shooting from the field and fourth with 77.6 points per game.
Their defense has also been solid, although less effective recently with the injuries.
Nevertheless, the Orange and Brown hold opponents to 31.7% shooting on three-pointers, which is the third-best mark in the MAC.
Rebounding is a major weakness for Bowling Green. They rank last in the conference with just 32.3 boards per game.
Scouting Aquinas College
Aquinas College, a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) school located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, enters the game with a 6-6 record, including a 2-4 mark in road matchups.
The Saints faced Central Michigan, a MAC foe, earlier this season, falling to the Chippewas 93-69.
Aquinas’ offense has been average this season.
They rank ninth in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) with 71.6 points per game and 32.5% shooting on three-pointers while ranking 10th with 40.8% shooting from the field.
However, their defense has been strong.
They hold opponents the second-fewest points per game (69.8), the third-fewest three-point percentage (29.1%) and the fifth-fewest field goal percentage (43.1%) in the WHAC.
Falcon Four Players to Watch
Javontae Campbell (Bowling Green #2)
The junior forward has been an impact player on both sides of the ball for the Orange and Brown.
Campbell ranks fourth in the MAC with 54.6% shooting from the field and fifth with 16.3 points per game.
He also leads the conference and ranks third in the country with a whopping 36 steals (3.3 per game) this season.
Marcus Johnson (Bowling Green #6)
Johnson has been the main scorer for Bowling Green this season.
The Akron, Ohio, native leads the MAC with 17.0 points per game.
He also ranks second in the conference with 94.1% (32-34) shooting on free throws and fifth with 27 three-pointers.
Devon Boyd (Aquinas College #5)
The redshirt junior guard is the motor of the Saint’s offense.
The Grand Rapids, Michigan, native leads the team with 15.4 points per game, 3.8 assists per game, 40.5% shooting from the field and 83.7% shooting from the charity stripe.
Caden Pokorzynski (Aquinas College #23)
The sophomore forward has been dominant for Aquinas College this season.
The Rockford, Michigan, native is averaging a double-double, leading the Saints with 10.1 rebounds per game while scoring 11.8 points per contest.
