BGSU co-chairs of the search committee for the next provost and senior vice president will begin the on-campus interview phase starting Thursday, Jan. 16. Students were sent an email from co-chairs, Interim Provost and Senior Vice Present Glenn Davis and Senior Advisor to the President M. Sue Houston explaining the interview process.
According to the email, “After an initial review of candidate applications, we have extended an invitation to two candidates to participate in this critical next step.”
Dr. Ravi Krovi and Dr. Elizabeth “Libby” Wentz are the two candidates selected to interview for the open position.
Dr. Krovi is the current provost and senior vice president of academic affairs at Weber State University. He will be on campus Thursday, Jan. 16 and Friday, Jan. 17.
Dr. Wentz is the current vice provost and dean of the Graduate College at Arizona State University. She will be on campus Tuesday, Jan. 21 and Wednesday, Jan 22.
According to the email, “During the on-campus interview phase, each candidate will participate in an open forum with our learning community, including a presentation and Q&A session.”
The open forum will take place in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union Theater and will also be live-streamed on MyBGSU and recorded for viewing after the presentations.
Dr. Krovi’s forum will take place on Jan. 16 from 2:45 – 3:45 p.m. and Dr. Wentz will conduct hers on Jan. 21 from 2:45 – 3:45 p.m.
“We encourage your participation in these on-campus open forums,” according to the email. “We will be gathering feedback from in-person and online attendees through feedback forms following the conclusion of the open forums.”
Questions can be asked at the forums, and can also be submitted ahead of time or during the forum by emailing [email protected].
The email included a link to a Provost Search webpage on MyBGSU that allows students, staff and faculty to access information on candidates, live-stream links and feedback forms to fill out after the forums.
“We look forward to hosting these candidates on campus to meet with our learning community. Thank you for your time and participation as we finalize the search for this key leadership position,” wrote Davis and Houston.
