A spot has opened for the undergraduate representative for the BGSU Board of Trustees, and the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) is inviting students to apply.
The board has two student trustees tasked with undergraduate student concerns, working with the graduate trustee and participating in USG events.
The application deadline is Feb. 3, and to apply, there are a few qualifications.
An applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student, a registered voter and resident of Ohio, hold a grade point average of at least a 3.0, be in good standing with the bursar’s office, have at least two years remaining as an undergraduate student and not be under any disciplinary sanctions issued by an official BGSU body.
A student trustee is expected to be informed on the current issues faced by students, faculty, staff, the Bowling Green community and events in higher education for Ohio.
Student trustees do not receive a vote, but they are expected to state the interests of students to the board as they are expected to attend all Board of Trustee meetings and some BGSU events.
The application asks for information on the qualifications, what an applicant believes the role is, what they wish to accomplish, leadership experience and how they wish to engage with USG. It also asks for references and interview times that will take place the week of Feb. 10.
For more information about the position and how to apply, contact the current Undergraduate Student Trustee, Cole Nemeth at [email protected], or the Chair of the Undergraduate Board Trustees Selection Committee, Madison Jeffries at [email protected], and visit the application page.
