BGSU hockey (12-9-4, 8-6-4) will prepare for their series against Northern Michigan (4-21-1, 3-14-1) this weekend in Marquette, Michigan. The games are scheduled for Friday, Jan. 31, and Saturday, Feb. 1, both with a 7:07 p.m. puck drop.

With Northern Michigan sitting last in CCHA and Bowling Green being fourth, the Falcons have a strong opportunity to secure a win and improve their position in the standings.
With just four series left, the CCHA playoffs are approaching, and every point matters as Bowling Green looks to maintain its spot in the top four to secure home-ice advantage in playoffs.
The Northern Michigan Wildcats recently suffered consecutive defeats against Michigan Tech. On Friday, Jan. 24, the Wildcats lost 3-2, and on Saturday, Jan. 25, they were shut out 4-0 by the Huskies.
Last weekend, the Falcons lost their first game against Augustana without scoring any goals, and their second game ended in a shootout loss, earning them one point.
The only person to score over the weekend for Bowling Green was graduate forward Seth Fyten, with his first goal of the season. Another standout player over the weekend was senior goaltender Christian Stoever, who saved 61 shots and almost managed a shutout in the first game.
The weekend prior, the Falcons went up to Ferris State and won their first game 4-3 and lost the second 4-3.
Falcon Four Players To Watch
Senior goaltender- #30 Ryan Ouelette, Northern Michigan
Ouelette has a save percentage of .921. Last weekend against Michigan Tech, he totaled 59 saves across the two games.
Freshman forward- #14 Jakub Altricher, Northern Michigan
Altricher had two assists against Michigan Tech last weekend and currently leads his team in points (three goals, 11 assists).
He scored twice against Bemidji State a few weeks ago on Jan. 17.
Senior forward- #20 Ryan O’Hara, Bowling Green
O’Hara scored seven goals this season and had 15 assists, totaling 22 points. For the last four years, he has become a crucial offensive player for the Falcons.
He scored three goals during the Bemidji State series, almost half the goals the Falcons scored that weekend.
Sophomore forward- #29 Brody Waters
Another player to watch for the Falcons is sophomore forward Brody Waters, who is still the leading goal scorer in the CCHA.
Nine of his 14 goals this season have come during power plays, making him another important offensive player for the Falcons. He scored three goals two weeks ago at Ferris State and had two points the week before against Bemidji State.
