The Women’s Track and Field team continued their indoor competition on Friday and Saturday at Notre Dame’s Meyo Invitational.
Distance runners were the stars of the show. Freshman phenom Reese Reaman continued her strong rookie campaign by setting the BGSU program record for the mile race, with a time of 4:46.40, which was good for 8th in the competition.
Reaman was joined in the mile by fellow freshman Rachael Hoover, who ran a PR of her own with a time of 4:53.72 marking the sixth-best time for the event in school history.
Junior Kylee Cubbison decided to claim a record of her own shortly after, running a 9:25.00 3000m race to claim the school record from her teammate, Graduate runner Kailee Perry.
Several other Falcons set personal records during the competition. DaMya Barker became the 4th fastest 60m hurdler in BG history, running a 2nd place time of 8.55 seconds. Grace Bradtmueller and Kami Baker set personal bests in the hammer throw with distances of 16.90m and 16.31m respectively.
Trista Fintel threw a mark in the weight throw that marked the eighth best in school history, throwing 18.95m, a standard only bested on the day by a former Atlantic Coastal Conference indoor champion.
The Orange and Brown will compete next in throwing events on Friday, Feb. 7, when Ashland University hosts the Jud Logan LightGiver Invitational. The team will also travel to Ann Arbor for the following day’s Michigan Invitational.
