BGSU hockey’s captain and fifth-year forward, Ethan Scardina, has been selected as this week’s CCHA Forward of the Week.
This is Scardina’s first selection as Forward of the Week and the first CCHA weekly award of his career.
The center-man landed one goal and one assist in each of Bowling Green’s two wins against Northern Michigan in Marquette, Mich. His goal in the Friday game was the game-tying goal, his assist on the game-winner. On Saturday his assist came on the first goal of the season for Eric Parker and his goal was an empty netter to seal the series for BG.
The four-point week is tied for the most he’s scored since Feb 9 and 10 of 2024 and Nov 19 and 20 of 2021. Both past series against Lake Superior State.
In his fifth year with BG, Scardina has accumulated five goals and six assists, two points from beating his 2023-24 total and six from his career high. His six assists stand him tied for the most helpers in his career.
Inside the face-off circles, he has been even more astounding, winning 54.5 percent of draws, sixth in the CCHA, the second highest of any Falcon since CCHA reformation in 2021-22 (Josh Nodler, .580 in 2023-24).
