BGSU men’s soccer and head coach Eric Nichols has added assistant coach Jack Bennett to the coaching staff.
Bennett joins Bowling Green after spending last year as the Director of Goalkeeper at Gretna Elite Academy in Gretna, Neb, along with serving as the head goalkeeping coach for all boys and girls goalkeepers in the ODP program in Nebraska.
“I am extremely excited to be joining the BGSU community and feel immensely privileged to have the opportunity to join such an ambitious and talented soccer program,” said Bennett. “Eric [Nichols] is very intentional about fostering and representing the culture that is BG Men’s Soccer, and I’m looking forward to contributing toward that culture, and learning from this fantastic group of staff and players along the way.”
A graduate of Concordia University, Bennett served as the goalkeepers coach at his alma mater from 2022-22. During his collegiate playing days, he was a two-time all-conference second-team selection in 2017 and 2018,
“We are thrilled to welcome Jack to our coaching staff,” said Nichols. “His expertise will be invaluable to our goalkeeping corps, and his insight and experience will make him a tremendous asset to our entire coaching team.”
Bennett set the single-season record for Concordia for the lowest GAA (0.82) in 2017, and also a program-high single-season wins with 17.
In 2019-2020, Bennett played semi-professional soccer in England’s sixth and seventh division for AFC Bradford Park Avenue, Stratford Town FC, and Kettering Town FC.
Bennett will join fellow assistant coaches Ryan James and Gonzalo Carranza on head coach Nichols’ staff for the upcoming 2025 season.
