BGSU’s first-line forwards Brody Waters and Ryan O’Hara have been awarded Second-Team All-CCHA.
A sophomore right-winger, Waters has had a standout second season with Bowling Green. He has a massive net-front presence scoring 16 goals this season, leading most of the year but finishing fourth in the CCHA. His 10 powerplay goals lead the CCHA by three, with 41.6% of BG’s powerplay goals coming from Waters.
Waters finished the season in 2024 with seven fewer points, three fewer game-winners, and two more penalties. He tallied the first hat trick of his collegiate career in 2025. He worked on the first line for most of the campaign, with O’Hara and Ben Doran scoring 77 points with a +24 rating.
Despite not scoring a goal until December 29, the left-winger O’Hara is a top scorer in the CCHA. His senior season brought 11 goals, all but one coming in 2025, including three powerplays, two first goals, five game-winners, one overtime goal, and 22 helpers.
A co-captain this season, O’Hara scored 15 more points in 11 more games (injury) than in 2023-24. The season brings his most points, most points per game, goals, assists, shots, and game-winners in a season. The Ontario native is twelfth in goals, fourth in assists, fifth in points, second in game-winners and third in shots in the CCHA.
This is both players’ first post-regular season awards, the only two for BG in 2025. In 2023-24, BG had only one postseason award winner, Cole Moore on the All-CCHA Rookie team.
Waters and O’Hara next compete with BG in the semifinal of the 2025 Mason Cup with a chance to play in the championship. It will be the first semifinal game either player will compete in during their college careers.
