Redshirt freshman third baseman Addie Martin and junior pitcher Mackenzie Krafcik earned weekly Mid-American Conference (MAC) awards after their performances in Bowling Green’s 4-1 week at Meserve Field.
Martin was named the MAC Player of the Week shortly after the announcement of her nomination as the National Freshman of the Week by D1Softball thanks to her 11-19 weekend where she hit .579 with eight runs scored and five runs batted in.
Martin hit two home runs in game one of a Tuesday doubleheader against Green Bay as part of a six-hit day as part of an 11-hit week that sends her into a March 26 doubleheader against Youngstown State on a six-game hitting streak.
The Dover, Ohio native is fourth in the MAC with her 1.168 OPS, and her 10 home runs in 2025 tie her for third most in the category.
Krafcik earned the MAC Pitcher of the Week thanks to a dominating 17.2 innings of work, pitching in four of the five games throughout the week.
A seven-inning outing that allowed only one earned run in Tuesday’s outing gave the Falcons their seventh win of the season, and Krafcik followed it up with yet another complete game, this game allowing zero earned runs against Kent State in game one on Friday.
The junior had a 1.19 ERA on the week, and her season ERA of 3.60 is good for seventh best in the MAC.
Martin, Krafcik, and the Falcons will be back in action on Wednesday, March 26 when they take on the Youngstown State Penguins for a doubleheader with game one starting at 2 p.m.
