The BGSU women’s golf team continued their spring season heading down to Georgia to compete at the Georgia State Invitational at Rivermount Golf Club.
Bowling Green finished eighth as a team out of 15 teams as they shot +53. Queens-Charlotte won the tournament, posting a +30 throughout the three rounds.
Individually, Ava O’Sullivan was the top finisher for the Falcons as she finished seventh overall as well as the top golfer out of the Mid-American Conference.
Sullivan posted her lowest score of the season in round two as she posted a score of 68 (-4).
“Shoutout to Ava O’Sullivan for her top 10 finish. She played some great golf and never stopped fighting throughout the event,” said head coach Erin Fahey.
As for the rest of the team, Macie Elzinga finished 18th overall with a score of +11 (77-74-76-227). Finishing in 35th was freshman Addison Kartusch, posting a +16 (78-77-77-232).
Rounding out the Falcons was sophomore Sammie Dolce, who finished 49th with a +21 (79-81-77-237), and Clare Yeazell, who finished 68th with a +27 (79-81-83-243).
Individually placing for the Falcons was Olivia Steen, who tied with Yeazell with a +27 (80-77-86-243).
“We didn’t play our best golf this week. We made the 2nd most birdies in the field but were unable to tidy up some mistakes, which caused us to make big numbers,” Fahey said. “We will dive into why that has been happening and get to work as we prepare for the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational.”
Fahey alluded to it in her quote that the Falcons are back in action hosting the Black Falcon Invitational in two weeks on April 5 and 6th at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
