BGSU women’s tennis (9-8, 0-4 MAC) fell 7-0 to Miami (OH) (5-8, 4-0 MAC) on Friday afternoon in Perrysburg.
While the RedHawks claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, the Falcons showed some fight in singles play.
Three Falcons—Tia Clemens (No. 1), Isabella Baker (No. 2), and Lucia Gaio (No. 6)—managed to push their matches to a third set or tiebreaker after bouncing back to win the second set.
Clemens came the closest to securing a point for the Falcons, narrowly falling in a tight third-set tiebreaker, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6. Baker and Gaio also extended their matches but couldn’t complete the comebacks, with Gaio dropping a 10-5 super tiebreaker.
Despite the tough loss, the Falcons showed moments of promise and will look to bounce back on Sunday when they travel to Buffalo to take on the Bulls at noon.
