For this first time this offseason, five BGSU hockey players have entered the transfer portal including three forwards, a defenseman and a goalie. These are the first transfers of the Dennis Williams era after no outgoing transfers from Bowling Green in 2024.
The three forwards entering the portal are sophomores Brandon Santa Juana, Adam Schankula and freshman Johannes Lökkeberg. Santa Juana came to BG as a freshman ahead of the 2023-24 season, with 36 games played in that first season and only 11 in the second. All 11 of his points were scored in his first campaign.
Lökkeberg came to BG for his first season, playing center and shooting only three pucks in nine games played. Schankula was a mid-season addition in 2023-24, skating in 14 games and scoring three points. He skated only one game in 2024-25.
Entering the portal is also defenseman Nick O’Hanisain, He scored one assist in 25 games played across two seasons. Goaltender Salvatore Evola will also test his hand at another team, the junior allowing 4.09 goals allowed average and .863 save percentage in 145 minutes played.
The Falcons lost five players but only three goals and 12 assists, as well as a three-year third-string goaltender.
