BGSU volleyball has released its 2025 conference schedule, which includes two split weekends and three new home and two new away opponents.
In their first conference season under head coach Alex DelPiombo, Bowling Green will first play a split weekend against Ohio and Kent State in the Stroh Center, Ohio barely missing the 2024 playoffs and KSU winning only one conference game. This first MAC weekend takes place the week of Sept. 25.
They then take a trip through Michigan for Eastern and Central Michigan the weekend of Oct. 3. The same series last year, at home, were the only two losses for BG in the conference season, with CMU finishing as the second overall seed.
The volleyball Battle of I-75 continues to take place on Tuesdays, October 7 and 28. The first edition will be held in Savage Arena in Toledo where BG reverse-swept the Rockets last season. The second edition will be hosted at the Stroh Center before Halloween weekend.
Oct. 9 starts a two-week homestand for the Falcons, playing Northern Illinois and Ball State on the Mo and Jon Stansbery court. Both teams BGSU only played on the road last season, NIU finishing 11th (of 12) and Ball State third, advancing to the MAC Championship game.
After this homestand, BG plays only three more home games, Toledo, and a series against Akron on Nov. 7 and 8. Breaking those up is a road series against rivals and 2024 MAC Tournament Champions, Western Michigan, on Oct. 24 and 25, the fifth season in a row of road games at Miami (OH) on Halloween weekend, and the final series of the season at Buffalo in New York (11/14-15).
The 2024 conference schedule for Bowling Green began quite difficult, with seven of their first eight games against future MAC Tournament teams, four against the MAC Champs, and runners-up. However, the only two losses came in one weekend, BG was perfect in the other games to finish 16-2.
2024 was the first season of a combined MAC; no East and West divisions. Bowling Green attained the first MAC Regular Season Championship competing against all 12 teams for the top spot instead of simply six.
