Buffalo (29-7, 13-5 MAC) defeated Cleveland State in the Fab 4 on Wednesday night, 74-69. The Bulls will face Troy in the WNIT Finals on Saturday.
The Bulls have now tied their program record for wins in a season that was previously set by the 2018 Sweet 16 team.
The game was back and forth through the first three quarters, with the Vikings barely leading 56-54 heading into the final quarter.
The difference in the game was Buffalo’s 8-4 run to begin the fourth quarter, which was aided by two Cleveland State turnovers.
The Vikings turned the ball over a whopping 21 times in the contest, while the Bulls had only 12.
Fifth-year guard Noelani Cornfield led Buffalo with five steals in the game, three of which occurred in the fourth quarter. She also had 15 points, seven rebounds, and four assists in the game.
If Buffalo beats Troy to win the WNIT Championship on Saturday, they will have their first 30-win season in program history and first WNIT Championship.
