BGSU men’s basketball senior guard Derrick Butler is reportedly entering the transfer portal. He has one year of eligibility remaining after deciding to use an extra year due to his experience at the junior college (JUCO) level.
Butler is the fifth Falcon to enter the portal, joining senior forward Marcus Johnson, junior guard Javontae Campbell, redshirt freshman forward Jamai Felt and sophomore guard Braelon Green, who transferred to Eastern Michigan just four days ago.
He averaged 13.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game in 31 contests during the 2024-25 season. Butler’s season included a career-high 35 points vs Morgan State on Dec. 6.
Butler previously played at Eastern Florida State, Chipola College and Central Michigan before joining the Falcons.
