In a match that took place at the Perrysburg Tennis Center on Friday afternoon, BGSU women’s tennis lost 6-1 against the Northern Illinois Huskies Huskies.
Sophomore Qianyu Liu (no. 3) won her singles match.
Bowling Green lost the doubles point. NIU’s Isabella Righi and Lucia Yecora defeated Liu and Konstantina Adamopoulou (BGSU), 6-2. The Huskies’ Jenna Horne and Reagan Welch defeated BG’s Leticia Fonseca and Lucia Gaio, 6-2.
In singles no. 1, Northern Illinois’s Maria Dzemeshkevich defeated Tia Clemens, 5-7, 6-4,7-5.
The Falcons have struggled in MAC play, now falling to 0-6 in the conference. The team’s total win total, 9-10, with all nine wins coming from outside the conference.
Headed down the stretch, the team will look to buckle down and build around strong performances from players like Liu.
