BGSU hockey’s sophomore defenseman Michael Bevilacqua has entered the transfer portal, the sixth Falcon to enter the transfer portal since the end of BG’s season.
Bevilacqua posted a solid 2023-24 season, playing 20 games on the blue line scoring two goals and five assists. He scored multiple points in one game (at Ferris State, 2/2/24) and two series (at Augustana, 10/14-15/23 and away at Ferris State, 2/2-3/24).
The native of Hamburg, New York was highly affected by Dennis Williams joining Bowling Green, playing no games in 2024-25. He was also stuck behind a group of great defensemen who were the strength of Bowling Green throughout the season.
In his 156 games played with the Des Moines Buccaneers in the USHL from 2019 to 2023, he netted 13 goals with 55 assists, seven goals and 23 assists coming in the final season.
Bevilacqua is the second player from Bowling Green to enter the portal without a game played in 2024-25 (Salvatore Evola). He added no points and no assists to BG this past season, with none of the six Falcons in the portal contributing to BG’s 90 goals at all.
