“Breaking Bad” is finally over. There is no longer anything to look forward to on Sunday nights now.
But what a well-written ending. Viewers were left without any sort of unanswered questions with Walt, Jesse, Todd or with the insane group of neo-Nazis. On the after show, “Talking Bad”, creater Vince Gilligan said he “does not like endings with unanswered questions” and many people should be grateful for that.
The special thing about this show is that it was impossible to guess what would happen next either for the next scene or next episode in general. People knew there were going to be characters who would die but it is uncertain they actually knew a whole group of people were going to die, maybe at the same time.
As far as Todd’s death, something inside me felt Jesse’s emotion as he was suffocating the psychopath. Many other fans did not want Jesse to die, and the fact that Todd killed Andrea Cantillo, Jesse’s current love interest, certainly sparked a new hatred towards Todd. Surely, these fans were rooting Jesse on as he was carrying out the killing.
Perhaps the best part of the episode was when Walt tackled Jesse inside the Nazi’s hideout in order to duck while the turret Walt made literally shot and killed the entire gang. It was brilliant how Todd was still alive and Jesse killed him because I think fans wanted something more out of the death of Todd rather than just immediately dying.
When Walt said his final goodbye to Skyler and their baby Holly, it wasn’t awkward or anything. It was a sad goodbye and to know Skyler actually allowed him inside where she was currently residing to say goodbye to Holly made it even more intimate. Walt saying goodbye to Skyler left fans with the feeling that there is still a respected bond between Skyler and Walt, and there are still feelings of love between the characters.
Even though the series is over, people and fans of the show will still be speaking about it for a long time to come. That’s the beauty of it. The show brought people together to talk about how great the plot or cinematography was, or how great the acting was because it’s all true. The ending was everything you could ask for and fans should be happy with the way it ended.
