New York fashion week wraps up, ending the constant runway modeling, camera flashes and lines of edgy ensembles. Though the women’s lines were extremely unique, many designers’ men’s wear lines were detailed, fitted and easily translatable for the men on campus.
Designers like Tommy Hilfiger and Lou Dalton created styles that were elegant-chic, more reality based and easily accessible for everyone. Though trends like blazers paired with dress shorts seemed couture and a bit out there, the final looks ended with fitted button ups, skinny khaki bottoms and lace up shoes.
Senior Kyle Macdonald finishes up homework in the Union, sporting a plaid Chaps button up, dark wash PacSun denim and tan Sperry’s. Macdonald describes his style as put together but comfortable for class.
Men can find pieces of the “done-up lounge” look in collections from Ambiguous and Lifetime.
Channel Kyle’s affordable eye for style by shopping at PacSun, which currently offers button ups for less than $20, as well as dark wash denim 2 for $65.
For the laid back lace-up shoe, you can never go wrong with a trip to Aldo Shoes. New spring styles include “EBanks,” a popular style hybrid between a slip on and a high top boat shoe. Aldo’s seasonal collection also includes the “Faryn” laced, leather slip on that looks close to what Lou Dalton’s male models rocked down the runway.
Guys, start spring off by ditching the orange t-shirt and ratty sweatpants look, grab a button up and some fitted bottoms and you’re good to go. Stay fashionable, falcons!
