An unidentified woman who was found dead and partially decayed in her apartment Monday afternoon was being served with an eviction notice.

The Bowling Green Police Division received a call at 4:14 p.m. from a court employee who had gone to the apartment on the 100 block of Court Street to deliver the notice. Upon arrival the employee dis- covered the body. BGPD Sgt. Paul Tyson, who was at the scene, estimated the woman had been dead for 10 to 15 days before she was discovered.

Police have been unable to locate next of kin and had not released the woman’s identity at press time, apart from saying she was not a University student. The body was turned over to the Wood County Coroner, who has yet to release any findings.
