College students everywhere, pay attention. There is finally someone willing to provide students with two of the most essential things required for campus life today — food and low prices.
In five years, Campusfood.com expanded its services to over 300 colleges and now includes 2,000 restaurants across the country.
“We include many restaurants including Jimmy Johns, WB Grinders, Pita Pit, King Buffet and Pisanello’s Pizza,” said Julie Shimshack, director of marketing.
The company’s Web site allows students to view interactive menus and place orders online to local restaurants.
“We felt this would be beneficial especially with college students who spend more and more time online,” Shimshack said.
The benefit is that while avoiding busy signals, hold time and miscommunication, there are also discounts. Campusfood.com negotiates with the restaurants to allow discounts and specials only available through online ordering.
On Feb. 28, Campusfood.com began offering other beneficial services to college campuses nationwide.
“Anytime a student orders from our Web site they will be entered into a drawing for prizes,” Shimshack said. The prizes include mini iPods and two grand prizes of $5,000, which will be awarded on May.
“We knew two things students like are money and food so we decided to incorporate the two,” Shimshack said.
So far Campusfood.com gave away four mini iPods. The drawings will continue weekly.
Besides going online and placing an order, another way to enter is for the student to refer five friends to the Web site. There is no limit on how many entries each student is allowed.
“If you were to order a delivery online, it would take the same amount of time,” Shimshack said. “You just wouldn’t have to deal with being put on hold or a wrong order.”
Students interested should visit Campusfood.com to enter and check out the winners.
“Campusfood.com is about providing college students with convenience, reliability, and the best food specials and discounts around,” said Michael Saunders, Campusfood.com CEO. “We know students always need extra money and this contest is another way for us to provide students with something they can really use: cash.”
