From Friday to Sunday, the BG men’s golf team competed with nine other teams in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) golf championship. 

BG finished in seventh place in the tournament, with Ball State picking up their first tournament title since 1986. 

On day one, BG recorded a total team score of 299, tying them in eighth place with Ohio. On the second day, BG scored 292, placing them in sixth place in the tournament. 

Unfortunately for BG, the team recorded their worst day on the final day of the tournament, recording a team score of 309.  

The Falcons finished with a total team score of 900, just above Central Michigan’s 902 and Ohio’s 918 team scores, respectively. 

Bowling Green’s Brandon Rattray finished tied for 12th in the tournament, with a score of 218. 

BGs Brady Pevarnik was tied for sixth in par 3 scoring at –1 in the tournament. In addition, Derin Hudak tied for fifth in the tournament on par 5 scoring at –8. 

Toledos Barend Bortha was named the Golfer of the Year and the MAC individual champion, finishing the tournament with a score of 205.  

The victors, Ball State, captured their first championship since 1986, with a total score of 854.
