Suspect arrested in Meijer robbery case

The investigation into an armed robbery in the parking lot of Meijer’s has led to the arrest of Jacob Alan Harouff.

Harouff, 26, from Chattanooga, Tenn. was charged with aggravated robbery– a 1st degree felony –for robbing a female Meijer patron at gunpoint.

The victim had reported to police that while she was loading her purchases into her car, a man drove up, pulled out a gun and demanded her purse. The victim had reported that there was a female passenger in the car as well. According to Lt. Bradley Biller, the woman remains an “unnamed suspect at this point.” He said he couldn’t comment further.

The police were able to track Harouff’s activities following the robbery and he led them to Georgia. Harouff was arrested and was being held in Lowndes County, Ga. for shoplifting.

The victim of the robbery was later able to identify Harouff as the offender and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
