Golf team sets records

The men’s golf team had a record-setting performance at the Xavier Invitational.

In their final match of the fall season, the Falcons set a two-round record by shooting a score of 563.

In the first round, BG’s score of 276 set a new school record for one round, and also tied the Xavier Provident Invitational record. The score breaks a school record that has stood since 1991, when the team attained a score of 589 in 36 holes. BG finished third in the tournament.

The tournament, which was shortened by rain, was highlighted by other records falling for BG.

Individually for BG, Heath Ziglar shot a two-round score of 136, which tied the school record.

Indiana won the 20-team tournament, which was held at the Grizzly golf course in Mason Ohio.

he Falcons will now not see action until the spring season, when they play in the Cleveland State Spring Kick-off Classic, which will be held Feb. 23-24.
