Whipple quote on race was incorrect
In Tuesday’s edition of the BG News, Ed Whipple, Vice President of Student Affairs, was cited in the article, “Recent Hiring Starts Debate at University.”
The BG News quoted Whipple as saying, “Training our staff is critical and we don’t have very many staff members who are colored.” Whipple actually uses the phrase “people of color.”
