Taking a Second Look…

Yesterday The BG News published an opinion piece written by Matt Sussman regarding the serious social issue of underage drinking and its consequences. Since the publication of that column, The BG News has received several comments regarding the insensitivity of the piece concerning its handling of the situation involving University student Garrit Nixon, who is currently missing. The BG News believes Mr. Sussman’s column raises an issue that warrants further community consideration and discussion. However, The BG News staff would like to apologize to the friends and family of Nixon as well as anyone in the University community who was offended by the piece during this most difficult time.
