Thai warplanes act to end violence

Thai warplanes have dropped millions of folded paper cranes over the country’s southern provinces to express hope for an end to the separatist violence that has killed hundreds in the region. Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra said the missives were a success because they had positive psychological effects.
