BGSU Dive Team Competes in Season’s First Solo Invitational

BGSU’s Dive team competed in their first solo invitational of the season in Buffalo, New York over the weekend.   

On the first day, the Falcons’ highest finisher was senior Julia Januszewska, finishing with a score of 221.15 in the one-meter dive, which resulted in a 19th-place finish. 

The second day of competition was much more successful for the Orange and Brown as the Falcons ended up with two divers in the three-meter final. Junior Rayah Blood would finish fourth with a score of 291.85, while sophomore Sarah Butt finished twelfth with a score of 245.85.  

Blood had another successful performance after a great outing in the Florida International University Sprint Invitational on January 3 where she finished second in the three-meter dive with a score of 276.20.   

Next up, the BGSU swim and dive teams will reunite for an away meet against Oakland next Friday, with a start time of 4 p.m.
