The Bowling Green Women’s Golf Team placed seventh at the Falcon Florida Classic on Monday and Tuesday.

The tournament took place at the Royal Lakes Golf Course, where the Falcons and various Midwestern colleges faced off in a 12-team matchup.

The event consisted of some very familiar faces for Bowling Green such as Ohio, Toledo, Akron, and Western Michigan.

The Falcons fell short to their rival Toledo Rockets, who placed in 3rd.

Senior Kayla Davis led the team with a score of +1, ranking 11th in the contest.

Other notable Falcons were freshman Olivia Steen with a +8 and junior Emily Nystrom with a +11.

Bowling Green had an overall score of +33.

Head Coach Erin Fahley was impressed of the players’ hard work, but wants to push the team to improve even further.

“We had a solid showing for the first event of the spring,” she said. “The team is looking forward to tuning a few things up as we head into our preparation for the next event.”

The Falcons are back on the green for Western Michigan’s Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz. on Feb. 24-26.
