The Bowling Green women’s basketball team defeated the Chippewas 80-72 in Mount Pleasant on Wednesday.

The Falcons took an early lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

CMU didn’t give up though as they outscored 23-14 in the fourth quarter for a tight ball game.

Falcon forward Allison Day continued to put up numbers for the Falcons, leading with 20 points and five rebounds.

BG sophomore Jocelyn Tate was not too far behind with 14 points.

Tate also added on five steals out of the 24 the Falcons forced from Central Michigan.

Bowling Green also took advantage of turnovers, scoring 28 points.

Ultimately, the Falcons held off a late CMU comeback en route to a victory.

Head Coach Robyn Fralick praised the team for their tenacity on the court.

“I was proud of our team’s toughness on the road today,” she said. “I thought Central played well – they shot the ball really well – and we were able to withstand those runs and stretches. As a team, we did a great job in the areas of effort and hustle plays.”

With this victory, the Falcons have broken the school record for road wins in a season.

BGSU is now 13-2 in true road games this season.

The Falcons move to 24-3 overall and 13-2 in MAC play as CMU falls to 6-20 overall and 4-11 in the MAC.

Bowling Green come home to host the Buffalo Bulls for Senior Night on Saturday at the Stroh Center.
