Goodwill in Bowling Green is reopening March 1 after renovations and revamping occurred inside of the establishment.

Tim Kralovic, Vice President of Retail Sales, and his team, including Goodwill Industries of Northwest Ohio’s CEO, Amy Wachob, worked on the renovations.

Some students, including those who enjoy thrifting or finding discount clothing, stated they are hoping that there are some significant changes following the renovations.

Logan Sanders, a BGSU student shared their thoughts on Goodwill prior to the new interior.

“I’m hoping for it to be more organized. Trying to find certain things was very hard. It was a bit messy, but I’m hoping it’s better because I go there quite often,” said Sanders.

Another BGSU Student, junior Haydon Carter, had similar thoughts on the matter.

“With the renovations, I am hoping there are some cleaner facilities like the dressing rooms where the paint was chipping and that by redoing the store they’ll get more business. I am excited – I’m an avid Goodwill shopper, and I get most of my clothes and knick-knacks from them,” said Carter.

Following the reopening, Goodwill will be open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

Tim Kralovic, Vice President of Retail Sales, states that the renovations were long overdue.

“We really wanted to get the Bowling Green store done at a time that was appropriate for the students and for the community. We want this to be special for the people to come out to,” said Kralovic.

He explained that despite having thirteen other locations, Bowling Green has the highest presence of college students out of them all making the location the most well-loved and with the heaviest foot traffic.

“The BG students have been some of the most supportive of everything we’ve done here over the years, and that’s another reason why we’re doing the remodel to show our appreciation for all of the support,” said Kralovic.

The mission at Goodwill is to help people get job training along with job opportunities. This means that every time people shop, they get to help those in their local area. For students and the community, shopping at Goodwill acts as a way to provide to those in need across the Wood, Lucas and all thirteen counties across the Northwest territory.

“We have one standardized pricing for every type of product we sell. For example, with shoes, you could find Nike, Adidas, or anything and it would cost $6.50. We don’t vary the costs of our items because the quality of the things we provide is the biggest thing we focus on,” said Kralovic.

At the grand reopening, the students and community can expect brighter lights, new flooring, a new layout, along with new register systems.
