The Bowling Green baseball team took on their arch-rival Toledo Rockets in the Battle of I-75 on Wednesday,

The Falcons were looking to stop a three-game losing streak and that was evident from the beginning.

The action began as freshman pitcher DJ Newman slammed a single that later turned into the first points of the game.

The Rockets were then shut out in the first as Bowling Green’s momentum continued into the second as their lead grew to 2-0.

After this point the Rockets retaliated, putting up a lone run in the second and then held the Falcons scoreless in the third.

Then, Toledo took their first lead of the day going up 3-2 a third of the way through the contest.

This battle was back and fourth until the seventh inning when the Falcons, leading 7-5, were bombarded with runs falling down 11-7.

The Rockets pinned one more on BGSU in the 8th as BGSU had now lost 4 straight.

The Falcons look to stop their four-game skid in a home series at Stellar Field against Ball State beginning on Friday.
