The summer of road closures and detours continues in Bowling Green, but the city reports progress being made.
All asphalt work and pavement striping on the roundabout at the Wooster and Campbell Hill intersection are complete. While crews will work to complete installation of the stone pavers in the median over the next few weeks, the city states both lanes of traffic will be open in each direction and the roundabout fully functional in time for the Tractor Pulls (August 17-19) and the university’s Move In (August 19-20). A lane of traffic will have to be closed on occasion for the remaining work. Light poles and trees will be installed in the median island in September.
The water and sewer project that has reduced West Wooster to a one-lane road continues but the city stated in a press release, “the contractor has turned the corner of W. Wooster St. up Haskins Rd. – heading to the finish line at Parker Ave.” About 150 feet of sewer line remains to be installed. The city did not offer a timetable on when West Wooster will return to two-way traffic.
The city also reports resurfacing on Haskins Rd., between Newton Rd. and Parker Ave. is complete while some work remains at intersections as does final striping.
