BGSU Men’s Soccer (1-0-0)traveled to East Lansing to begin their road portion of the 2023 season against the Michigan State Spartans (0-1-0) for their second match of the year.
First-half was a back-and-forth between the two sides until the Spartans broke through late in the first half with a goal by forward Efosa Emovon in the 37’ to give MSU a 1-0 lead.
The Falcons went down to ten men after freshman midfielder, Anthony Hernandez, received a red card in the 44′ just before halftime.
The search for an equalizer in the second half went unsuccessful as the Spartans added a second goal in the 81’ from forward Jake Spadafora, and a third from midfielder Colin Arce, in the 83’.
The Falcons were outshot on the night 13-8, with only two shots on target compared to seven for the Spartans.
Next up for the Falcons, is a trip to Pittsburgh as they take on the Duquesne Dukes on Thursday, August 31, with kick-off set for 7:00 p.m. EST on ESPN+.
