BGSU men’s soccer sophomore midfielder Andrew Shaffer was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week Monday night.
Shaffer scored the game-tying and game-winning goals off the bench in the Falcons’ home opener against Cleveland State on Thursday. Shaffer’s goals came in the 64th and 73rd minutes.
The performance against the Vikings marked the first multiple-goal match and game-winning goal of Shaffer’s collegiate career. The Galena, Ohio native now has five goals in 13 career games with BG.
The Falcons, who now sit at 1-1-0, will travel to Pittsburgh for a matchup with the Duquesne Dukes on Thursday night. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.
