BGSU Hockey is on thin ice, as Austen Swankler, star forward of the team took to X, formerly known as Twitter, Friday to call out the culture within the program.
In a series of posts on X, Swankler says his entry into the transfer portal is due to cultural issues at BGSU and referred to himself as a victim, saying:
“If coming out about hazing is being a bad team, then I guess I’m a bad teammate.”
These allegations come days after three players were suspended and the head coach of team was placed on administrative leave, pending an investigation into a hazing incident.
University officials said Monday, upon receiving a report of an alleged hazing incident they reported the matter to law enforcement.
An investigation into the matter is ongoing by Bowling Green Police Department.
