The Bowling Green State University women’s golf team closed out the fall season on Tuesday with an eleventh-place finish at the Terrier Intercollegiate, hosted by Wofford University.
This marks the first time that the Falcons made a trip out to Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, S.C., a course that spans over 6,000 yards.
“We challenged ourselves by coming to a new event and a great test of a course,” head coach Erin Fahey told the press. “Although we didn’t have the finish we wanted to, we continue to learn and grow as a team.”
The Falcons finished in front of only three teams over the two-day period with a score of 939 or +75. A 45-stroke difference from first place finisher Elon with 894 or +30 gave them the win.
Only one Falcon finished in the top 10 in individual performances, as sophomore Ava O’Sullivan finished tied in 10th place with a score of +11. Other notable finishes came from the likes of freshman Sammie Dolce, who scored +22 and senior Kayla Davis who finished +23.
The Falcons now have some time off as they head into the offseason. The spring season for the BGSU Women’s Golf team begins Feb.13 as they host the BGSU Women’s Intercollegiate.
