Horror movies are one of the best ways to get into the spirit of Halloween. The Maumee Indoor Theater is hosting their Halloween Movie Series this month and will be having an event from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Halloween.
They show iconic scary classics and slashers including Scream, The Shining, Beetlejuice and more. Family friendly showings start at 5:30 p.m. and include free admission. Their late night event is $5 per person.
Gillig Winery
Dressing up in costumes is another fun way to celebrate the season and show off your creativity. Gillig Winery in Findlay is hosting a Halloween Party from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Guests can take part in their costume contest and enjoy discounted drinks, a round of Halloween trivia and dance to iconic Halloween tunes.
Restaurants such as The Stubborn Brother Pizza Bar in Toledo are hosting Halloween events where guests are highly encouraged to wear a fun costume while dining in. They also have their weekly Tuesday night trivia that will be happening on the evening of Halloween. Other restaurants such as Tea Tree Asian Bistro located in Perrysburg and Mancy’s Bluewater Grille in Maumee are also hosting events encouraging guests to bring their best costume.
Harvest Fest
Harvest Fest at the Toledo Zoo is a fun fall festival that takes place during the month of October. Halloween is the last day to check out all of what the festival has to offer. All of the fall themed events are included with general zoo admission. Guests can check out the giant pumpkin displays alongside the animal habitats, all while enjoying seasonal food and drinks. The festival hosts live music entertainment as well as a range of activities including pumpkin carving classes. The festival has lots to offer for all ages during the halloween season.
Haunted Hydro
Looking for a good scare? A haunted house is a classic way to have a scary but fun experience. The Haunted Hydro is a haunted house located in Fremont and will be open on Halloween night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. They have many chilling attractions including their latest addition, “The Fog Harbor”, which is a spooky outside trail within a dark wooded forest. This haunt is known for being one of the best in northwest Ohio.
There are historical sights within Bowling Green that are known to be haunted that can be explored on the spooky day. Take a tour of the Wood County Museum, which was once known as the Wood County Infirmary and learn about its deep history. This building is known to have had multiple ghost sightings throughout the years that have been seen by employees and visitors.
Trick or Treating is one of the main events of October 31st in every town. Bowling Green’s trick or treat is taking place from 6:30 pm and 8:00 pm. The town of Bowling Green is encouraging people to keep this in mind when traveling through neighborhoods for any Halloween excursions
