As spring break starts, vacations can be hard to plan. These are five last-minute staycation spots close to Bowling Green.

Put-in-Bay

Located off the shores of Lake Erie, this spring break hot spot has something for everyone. The historic island offers outdoor leisures such as jet skiing and kayaking as well as an avid nightlife, located an hour and 45 minutes from BGSU.

Campgrounds

Northwest Ohio has plenty of campgrounds for a more nature-driven getaway. Located off the shores of Lake Erie is Maumee Bay State Park Campground. This location provides scenic views and is only a 40-minute drive from BGSU.

Kalahari

Located at 7000 Kalahari Dr. Sandusky, OH, this resort is the MidWest’s largest indoor waterpark. Grab a couple of friends and buy some tickets with full-day passes starting at $94.99. The hour and nine-minute drive from BGSU gives you time to listen to the perfect playlist.

Great Wolf Lodge

With full-day passes starting at $50 per person, this indoor water park provides a less costly alternative to your lazy river needs. Located at 4600 Milan Rd. Sandusky, OH, the drive is an hour and six minutes from BGSU.

Renting an Airbnb with some friends could be the perfect break from the routine you’ve been living for the past few months. Whether it’s a towny loft or a forest cabin, getting together with a friend group means you can split the fee.
