Oakland had been swept earlier in the season by Miami (OH) in a three-game series, a series in which they allowed the Red Hawks to score 46 total runs.

If there is any player in college baseball that defines the term two-way, it is DJ Newman.
The sophomore pitcher now has an ERA of 3.06 which puts him second in the MAC as well as a total of 33 strikeouts on the year at the mound.
Newman at the pitcher position has a current hit-to-run ratio of 30 hits to 29 total runs, a run total that puts him among the top 10 of all batters in the MAC.
Nathan Archer (Bowling Green #8)
Archer has continued his streak from last year of playing every game in a season so far throughout this year, playing and starting for all 22 games.
In third place in the MAC on home runs with 31.
Leads the team and holds third place in the conference for RBIs with 28 so far this season.
Leads the Falcons In home runs with seven.
Leads the Golden Grizzlies in both hits (38) and home runs (8), a home run total that is higher than any Falcon players.
