In response to frequent requests on how civilians respond if confronted with an active shooter event, the Wood County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SWAT) will be presenting Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE).
According to a news release, the free training will be presented on June 18 and is designed and built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend strategy along with Stop the Bleed Training.
Medics will be on hand demonstrate how to identify life-threatening bleeding and how to control it. Deputies and other law enforcement officers will also be part of the training.
The training event is for those 18 and older and will take place Tuesday June 18 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Penta Career Center Auditorium, 9301 Buck Road in Perrysburg. Doors will open at 4 p.m.
