BGSU women’s golf traveled to Manhattan, Kansas yesterday to compete in the two-day Powercat Invitational at the par 72, 6,439-yard Colbert Hills Golf Course.
Moving up five spots throughout the last two rounds, the Falcons finished in fifth place with a score of 912 (+48). This marks their second Top 5 finish this season, the first time the team has achieved such a start since the 2018-2019 season.
“I am very pleased with our performance at this event,” said head coach Erin Fahey. “This was a very demanding golf course, and the team stayed committed to the game plan and stayed patient throughout the entire event.”
Sophomore Ava O’Sullivan shot 75-73-73-221(+5) and +1 over par in the second and third rounds, earning her a seventh-place overall finish, the highest on the team.

Freshman Macie Elzinga finished No. 16, shooting 80-70-74-224 (+8). In the second round, Elzinga shot 70 (-2), a new career round low and her first time shooting under par as a Falcon.
The Falcon’s next test will come Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at the Diane Thomason Invitational at Iowa University in Iowa City, Iowa.
