Sophomore forward Bennett Painter has been named the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Player of the Week for his performance in the Falcons 5-2 win over Detroit Mercy.
Painter has also earned a spot on Top Drawer Soccer’s National Team of the Week. He is only the third Falcon to be named to the TDS list.
The Cincinnati native had five goal contributions, three goals, and two assists for the Orange and Brown last Tuesday against Detroit Mercy.
Painter’s hat trick against the Titans was the first by a Falcon since 2015. He now has nine goals and three assists on the year and is tied for the team lead in points.
He also has four game-winning goals this season, which ties Painter for the first in the NCAA, along with teammate junior forward Trace Terry.
Coming off a 0-0 draw at home against Drake, Painter and the Falcons are back in action on Sunday, Oct. 20, on the road against Missouri State in a big MVC matchup.
