Toledo alt-rock/punk emo band User927 kicked off Live & Loud’s Fall 2024 season at Bowling Green State University’s Michael and Sarah Kuhlin Center. The band performed three tracks—”Luna,” “Morgue Rat,” and “Jeannine”—showcasing their distinct sound.
User927 started as a solo project by frontman Damian Camacho, who recorded the first album independently. Seeking additional members to expand the band, Damian posted a flyer on the University of Toledo’s campus, and bassist Isaac Leitner said he “happened to walk by it,” leading to their collaboration. Guitarist Selah Carter and Camacho were previously in a band called Exit Only, which has also been featured on Live & Loud (see that episode here). Local musician Trent Swartz occasionally plays drums for User927.
The band’s new album, Violence and Perfume, is set for release soon and include the single “Luna,” which is part of User927’s Live & Loud set and is available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify.
“We wanted to make it a heavier, more cohesive project, so it’s a lot longer, a lot more tracks, and we’re very excited because I feel like it does a lot more than our first album,” Camacho said.
You can follow User927 on social media (including Facebook and Instagram) as well their Bandcamp page for updates on the album release and future performances.
